Member Profile - Benjamin Jackson

Benjamin M. Jackson is currently the Senior Financial & Reporting Manager for Beiersdorf Inc. where he has responsibilities for all closing activities, maintaining the general ledger, reviewing the accounting procedures, managing audit and assisting with various other areas and the accounting system (SAP).


Ben graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana in 1997 with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting. Upon graduation he worked at AM Cosmetics in various Cost Accounting roles. It was there that he worked on J.D. Edwards and found the passion for systems accounting. After AM Cosmetics, he moved to Geller & Company where he worked in the Fixed Assets Department and eventually was put on the implementation team for Bloomberg’s SAP system. Ben’s responsibilities there included training teams of his colleagues at Geller and ensuring that accounting rules and procedures were implemented in the process.
Ben received his MBA from Ellis College of NYIT in May of 2007 with a specialization in Accounting and Information Systems.

 

He is a member of Delta Mu Delta (International Business Honor Society), National Association of Black Accountants (President of NABA SNEW), National Black MBA Association – WGC (Technology Chair, Finance Committee member and Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) Mentor), Knights of Columbus, and Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.


In 2007 after finishing his MBA he joined the National Black MBA Association and looked for an opportunity to participate. Immediately he joined the Finance committee and. the Leaders of Tomorrow as a mentor. Both of these roles are challenging but yield a positive impact on him. In 2008 he was asked to be the co-chair of Leaders of Tomorrow and in 2010 he has taken the reins as the chair.
